For the love of God, October, END already

Normally I love October. Fall is my favorite season hands down, and Hells yes I love Halloween! It just seems like this month has dragged by so slowly that it’s taken far more time than should be necessary to get it wrapped up. Halloween isn’t until Friday, for Cripes sake!

I think I’ve been a little more stressed out than usual– due mostly to my own damn procrastination and general ineptness. I really wish I could just set my ass to a task, finish it, and move on to the next one. It sounds nice and orderly but I never, ever do it. At the moment I’m on a hugely tight deadline, Dr. Sketchy’s has kept me running around all month, there’s been an insane amount of visitors at work, and to top it ff my room’s a damn mess.

Dr. Sketchy’s this month was simultaneously the best and worst. Everyone had a lot of fun, I loved it, Morgana came through last minute to model– but due to the Savannah Film Festival and my own ineptness (I didn’t put the f*cking event time on the poster! What an idiot!) we had a colossaly low attendance. Although, to be fair, we did get at least two new people in, so that’s showing we’re doing something right.

I don’t know. I’m not much of a businesswoman and no matter what I try to do to help out, I feel like I’m making things 10 times more stressful for everyone else.

Site redesign in the near future…

I’m getting incredibly tired of the one I have up now, so there’s going to be a redesign as soon as I figure out what I want it to look like. I’m probably going to bring it back to a noir theme, since I really did like how the site looked when I had it noiry (that is SO not a word…) but I’d like to do actual illustrations instead of photos since, well, I AM an illustrator…

Might be up in he next few weeks, depending on my schedule. Dr. Sketchy’s October session is coming up the 26th, Halloween’s right after, and I have a big project I’m working on. Bleh

Bizarre

I’ve noticed recently that I seem to be drawn to listening (on repeat, natch) music from the mid-late 90s, when I was in middle school…mostly Ben Folds Five, Sarah McLachlan and Billie Myers. I guess it has something to do with nostalgia, but I can’t think why I’d be feeling nostalgic for that era, considering my middle school years were the most miserable years of my life.

Is it just me…

Or does Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys not look remotely like what he sounds like?

Then

Now

Now

….or is it just me that would actually contemplate what the vocalist of the Pet Shop Boys would look like at any given time?

And yes, you can totally expect a Pet Shop Boys inspired piece of art in the near future. Hey, if I can devote my entire Junior year of college to Roy Orbison and Joe Strummer, I can make one measly Pet Shop Boys piece, right?

Heheeheee…

Because I am an obsessive nerd (is there any other kind?) immediately after watching the Dark City director’s cut (with the Alex Proyas commentary track, I’ll get to the other ones later) I Google “Dr. Schreber Dark City”. Because, as noted, I am a huge nerd and have a probably very unhealthy obsession with that character.

So, imagine my glee when I clicked on the first page of Google Images!

I. Need. Help.

I <3 Dr. Schreber and Being Linked on Google

If I start writing “Mrs. Dr. Schreber” in big curly letters on the front of my binder, send help.
